"VAGUELY FAMILIAR"  Dave      Mike      Jim      Rob      Let me ask you, do these guys look "a little familiar ?"..........or "somewhat familiar?"..........or "VAGUELY FAMILIAR!!!"??  If you picked the last answer, give yourself a cigar..........."VAGUELY FAMILIAR has been singing together since May of 2004. The members of the quartet are ROB ROSS (Batavia WI) singing tenor, DAVE RABE (Kiel WI) singing lead, MIKE POPELKA (Elkhart Lake WI) singing bass, and JIM WEBER (Howards Grove WI) singing baritone. Rob is the youngest of the group (he's only five) and he and Dori are raising five "young-ens". He is a technician for a large, national gas company. He is one "helluva" tenor and a fine actor.........................If you don't believe us, ask HIM !!!!  Dave is quite an accomplished cook and he and Sandy have three grown daughters. During the day, Dave is a technician for a large communications company. Dave will not serve anything that he has not tried himself. He is also the "Music Committee Chairman". Whatever you hear (good or bad), Dave is responsible............... Jim retired once and is working again. He is a Sales Executive for a transportation company.  Jim and Gail have two grown children, three dogs, a grandson and are expecting another shortly.  He has been playing musical instruments since the age of six. Unfortunately, he has yet to find one that he can master...............  Mike is a retired teacher, biligual (which must have hurt) and currently serves as our chapter vice-president, handling marketing and public relations. Mike is one heckofva song writer. He and Rhode have two grown boys and they both enjoy traveling (Even though Mike complains that Rhode "forces" him to accompany her on vacations)  That makes the three couples "empty nesters"........................Rob and Dori will have to wait their turn. In the meantime, the Rabes, Popelkas, and Webers are enjoying their grandkids and spoiling them as often as the opportunity presents. As additional info, Mike, Jim and Rob, ALL play the guitar. Dave does NOT (he took lessons on "spoons" but dropped out after he used them up while cooking).................but Dave is the ONLY quartet member to be inducted in the exclusive "Ancient Harmonious Society of Woodshedders Inc". (AHSOW) !!!!!What that means is, Dave can sing all three parts, in addition to the lead, without music !!!!(unfortunately, he has yet to find a way to sing all four parts at one time!!!!) That makes the three of us VERY ENVIOUS !!!! Dave really  doesn't talk to the rest of us very often............and that really makes us feel inferior.................ASHOW !!!!   We enjoy entertaining and singing, both in the quartet and in the chorus. We sing for parties, picnics, retirements, birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, barmitvahs, etc., as well as church services and any other events where singing is required.
